Who am I?

Barry Jensen, a 35-year-old East Auckland local, husband, dad of two boys, and the founder of several businesses, some you may have come across: StaynCo, Jensen Commercial Cleaning, Cleanstay, Bad Offroad and Keyp-it.

I’m passionate about solving real problems. I’ve built, grown and led multiple companies from the ground up. From frontline operations to highlevel strategy, hiring good people, and delivering results that matter. I’m not a politician. I’m a practical operator with a bias for action, and I believe local government could use more of that.

I’ve implemented solutions across commercial cleaning, construction, tech, and retail. Experience spans managing teams, sales & marketing, solving complex problems, and personal coaching.

Whether negotiating with clients, scaling services, or finding creative solutions under pressure, I’ve known for being dynamic, solutions-driven, and grounded in relationships.

I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty. I thrive on shaking things up when systems aren’t serving people. Every business I’ve been part of has sharpened my belief in transparency and accountability. I will bring these real-world values into public service.

In 2025, I made the decision to stand for the Howick Ward Council seat, not because I had all the answers, but because I got tired of watching the simple things stall while our rates kept climbing.

I’m stepping forward to fix what matters — from broken footpaths and forgotten facilities to funding that doesn’t reflect community needs.

My approach is simple:

  • Listen first.

  • Work with those already on the ground.

  • Take your voice to Council.

  • Keep the loop open and honest.

Let’s shake the tree — and if that sounds like the kind of leadership you want, I’d love your support.
